IM techie arrested

‎The Delhi police which arrested Ejaz Shaikh from Western Uttar Pradesh has come a step closer to nabbing Mohsin Chaudhary a key man of the Indian Mujahideen who carried out the German Bakery blasts.
Shaikh a techie by profession from Pune had gone missing in the month of February and is suspected to have joined the ranks of the IM, a charge that his parents denied.
Shaikh incidentally is the brother in law of Chaudhary who is said to have set up base in Pakistan following the German Bakery blasts. Chaudhary has been missing since 2008 and was hiding in Bangladesh. However he made a dramatic entry into India to carry out the German Bakery blasts and fled the country again.
Shaikh on the other hand was working for an IT firm in Pune. He is said to have got into a lot of debt and this could have been the factor that his brother in law used to lure him into the outfit. His parents however maintained that he had gone missing because he could not clear his debt and that their son was not a terrorist.

Yasin Bhatkal arrest, a year later..

A year has gone by since the arrest of Yasin Bhatkal, the key Indian Mujahideen man. His arrest was quickly followed up with the arrests of close aides Assadullah Akthar, Tehsin Akthar and Waqas Ahmed. In short the top four who ran the Indian Mujahideen were all rounded off and this led to a major vaccum in the outfit which carried out blasts at ease on Indian soil.

The question is how much has really changed since the arrest of these men? The Indian agencies without a doubt have done a spectacular job in breaking the Indian Mujahideen, but the question is, whether it is time to relax?

Yasin and his accomplices have revealed to the investigators that the Indian Mujahideen may be down following their arrests, but the organization will rise once again and there is a second rung of leadership which will emerge. The IM has in the past one year intentionally distanced itself from the ISI claiming that the Pakistan spy agency had a personal vedetta and was not adhering to a cause.

Officials say that the second rung leadership of the IM is very much active and with the likes of Riyaz Bhatkal, Iqbal Bhatkal and Abdus Subhan still out in the open anything could happen.

Ansar-ul-Tawhid, recruit 300 Indians

The National Investigating Agency is piecing together a dossier and it has startling details about the coming together of the Tehrik-e-Taliban and the ISIS which has managed to recruit around 300 Indian youth into both these outfits. The NIA which will also file an FIR will rely heavily on the dossier it will put out with the help of the Intelligence Bureau. The dossier which will revolve around the birth of the Ansar-ul-Tawhid also exposes the game plan of the ISI which had intentionally told Indian based terrorists to speak out against them to give an impression that they are not being backed by Pakistan.

NIA sources shared details of the dossier and it points to a deadly combination of three major operatives namely Sultan Abdul Kadir Armar, Gul Mariacar and Yasin Bhatkal. All the three men hail from South India. While Armar and Bhatkal are from Bhatkal in Karnataka, Mariacar is a Cuddalore based operative who was recently deported to India from Singapore after he was found to be recruiting Indians into the ISIS.

How the Patna operation failed?

‎The Patna blasts aimed at targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi who at that time was addressing an election rally fortunately went horribly wrong for the SIMI and the Indian Mujahideen which jointly carried out the operation.
Money had been paid by these operatives to a source for automatic guns prior to the attack. However the source ditched them and never turned up with the consignment. Had this consignment been delivered the chaos would have been un-imaginable is what the National Investigation Agency chargesheet suggests.
As per the original plan the SIMI and the IM had planned on carrying out a series of blasts in and around the venue and once the chaos sets in they had planned on opening fire indiscriminately. They had also planned on targeting Modi at the hotel, but dropped the plan owing to extensive security around him.

Mistaken identity

‎The hunt for Amir Reza Khan turned out to be a damp squib. The Indian agencies who thought they had the Indian Mujahideen founder finally discovered that the trail had led up to a man by the name Khan, but he was another Accused in the American Consulate bombing.
Last week the Indian agencies had claimed that Khan had been arrested in Europe and they were confident that he was the man who had founded the IM. A team had left immediately with DNA samples and photographs, but it led up to the wrong man.
Now the agencies will try and bring back Khan who is also an accused in the American centre bombing. He was also part of the abduction of Shoe baron Roy Barman.
However fresh information obtained suggests that Amir Reza Khan is now holed up in Luxembourg. A fresh alert has been issued against him.

IM’s ISI man runs out of luck?

A search for a dreaded Indian Mujahideen terrorist which commenced 12 years back may end if the Indian agencies are able to ascertain the identity of Amir Reza Khna who has been detained in Europe.
Khan the founder of the IM is said to have been detained in Europe. An 8 member Indian team would leave for Europe armed with evidence to prove the identity of Khan.
Khan is a much wanted operative and he has been on the radar of the FBI as well. He is an accused in the 2002 American centre bombing. He is also the same person who carried out the abduction of show baron from Kolkata, Partho Roy Barman. A part of the money that he got from the ransom was sent to Mohammad Ata, one of the men who carried out the 9/11 attack.

Proxy war- PM Modi was spot on

pakarmyPrime Minister Narendra Modi recently accused Pakistan of waging against India and Pakistan was quick to deny this. Pakistan felt that India should sit across the table and discuss issues rather than making allegations. However the statement that was made by our Prime Minister was not just a rhetoric, but based on factual evidence of what is happening across the border.
Modi has been provided with enough material by both the central and military intelligence to make such an allegation against Pakistan. The diplomacy at Delhi during the swearing in ceremony between India and Pakistan is something that has not gone down too well with the militant groups in Pakistan controlled by the ISI.

Indian out of Mujahideen

India-MujahideenA recent letter by to the police commissioner of Bombay swearing attacks against Israelis in retaliation to the Gaza war makes one very interesting point.
It has been signed as Mujahideen. While the authorities confirm that it is a letter written by the Indian Mujahideen, what has raised eyebrows is that the letter was signed, “Mujahideen.”
It is certainly not a typo and has a meaning to it. This is yet another sign to show that the Indian Mujahideen today is more interested in international issues and wants to move past the India tag. Attacking Indians in India has earned them hatred amidst their own community and the lack of local support has not helped them one bit.

Indian Mujahideen’s net worth is….

tersimSIMI and the Indian Mujahideen put together are worth Rs 200 crore today. The National Investigation Agency along with the Intelligence Bureau which are probing the activities of both these groups say that the value of the two outfits was Rs 45 crore in the year 2012 and today it has increased by nearly Rs 150 crore.

Both these groups have been aping the Al-Qaeda to a large extent when it comes to raising funds. For the Al-Qaeda while the ransom through abduction had earned them nearly 120 million dollars, the IM and the SIMI managed to extract around Rs 30 crore through abductions and extortion alone. It all began with the abduction of Roy Barman a shoe baron in Kolkata way back in the year 2000 in which a ransom amount of Rs 3.5 crore was raised.

Lashkar’s RSS plot- Subhan says it all

20140729-193148-70308444.jpgAbdul Subhan the Lashkar-e-Tayiba operative arrested recently by the Delhi police has revealed that he was given instructions to draw up a list of RSS leaders. He tells the Delhi police during his interrogation that he had drawn up a list of 18 RSS leaders from Delhi and Nagpur and they were working on a plan on abducting them and demanding a huge ransom.
The Delhi police say that there is a lot of confusion regarding Abdul Subhan and many have mistaken him for the Indian Mujahideen tech chief, Abdus Subhan Qureshi. They are different people and the IM operative is still hiding in Karachi and has been making attempts to revive the Indian Mujahideen.
Subhan the Lashkar operative who was working for his handler Jawed Baluchi said that their first plan was to carry out a major attack in New Delhi on August 4th. We were aware that the security during Indepence Day would be extremely high and hence we decided to pre-pone the date of the attack, he also tells the police.
